About
Greetings, Engineers! My name is Lisa Ziegler and I am a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) teacher at Burns Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My educational vision for your children is to use my strong science education background, enrichment project-based training, technology education, and passion for creating a lifelong impact on the leaders of tomorrow while developing engineering leaders who are inspired, passionate, empowered, creative and independent. Through the PLTW curriculum, I strive to:
• develop and implement inspiring, creative, compelling, hands- on project based
units that motivate, encourage discovery, require collaboration and challenge the students’ individual learning
styles.
• coordinate and develop a responsive, mindful learning environment through
empowering students to design, create and solve problems in the subjects of science,
technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
• enthusiastically and creatively collaborate with staff, parents and children.
I believe that every student deserves and is capable of achieving high levels of academic
success through the project based teaching format of PLTW and a strong STEAM curriculum . I am passionate
about preparing problem solving students for a diverse world full of unlimited opportunities.
Utilizing any and all technology that is available, it is my goal to have students that are encouraged to
use lesson objectives in relationship with prior learning to collaboratively create PowerPoints,
web quests, dramatic interpretations, movie trailers, design based hands-on projects and similar
gifted and talented activities as part of their authentic learning experience.
It is a great honor to be a part of the sensational Burns Park community.
I hope this blog serves a a resource to document, reflect, and share our learning process as we dive into 21st Century learning. Enjoy our window to the world of PLTW, inquiry, and open-ended exploration in our classroom!
