I think these builds are OUTSTANDING! Here's your challenge build something amazing...not just a tower, but a design! Share it with us! I wish I had this many coins, but I do have a few! I am just going to while away the hours balancing or stacking these few coins I am so amazed by these artists skills. Using nothing more than their own raw skills, some coins, and sometimes other things like mugs, they makes some incredible coin-stack pieces of art.
Prepare to be absolutely amazed...and then try to create your own! Don't forget to share them with us! Happy Earth Day! If there is one rainbow in this pandemic it is the health of our Mother Earth. So many of our choices, actions and devotions are making our world a better, healthy and sustainable place to inhabit! In thinking of this "Birthday" for our Earth, our family WONDERed: How old is the Earth anyways? What a good wonder! Our friend, Doug, has a great explanation and activity for you all to do on this AMAZING Earth DAY!
Some of you know my favorite movie is "The Sound of Music". My dream vacation is to Austria, Switzerland and beyond! Well, if we can go there now, let's go there via a VIRTUAL train ride. The trip starts in St. Moritz, Switzerland on a perfectly sunny day and ends in Tirano, Italy via the high-mountain Bernina Pass. Sit back with an Italian-style caffè and watch as the train cuts through picturesque villages and rumbles alongside dizzying cliffs and sparkling blue waters. Along the way, you’ll break a few records — albeit virtually: It is the highest railway alpine crossing in Europe and the highest adhesion railway on the continent. It's meditational with some music and tea! Safe Travels!
It's time for a mystery friends! When we were going through our home library, we came across the book, "The Book of What If...?" by Murrie and McHugh. We had some fun reading through some pages! Let me know if you have any WHAT IF questions! Maybe we can create some experiments to go along with your what if's! Here's our Mystery Question today
WHAT IF WE COULD BE YOUNG FOREVER? Scientist Aubrey De Grey says WE can...hmmm. Watch his interview below! Let me know what you think! If we could live forever, we could learn whatever we wanted! What if we were the only ones who lived forever? What if everyone lived forever? Here's an Activity: Write a letter to yourself in 500 years! Tell your 500 + year old self what you are thinking, what you are doing, what do you want your 500+ self to not forget! Share it with us! There are SO many good eggs out there! Doing AMAZING good egg things! Enjoy this read aloud book! BE a GOOD EGG! This was inspired by a new social media platform. Last night, I was introduced to TikTok by my teenage girls. We saw this video (and we DO NOT endorse this TikTok artist in anyway). It made me think of a really cool project we could do today!
The latest family show in our home is "Lego Masters". Anyone else love that show? As we were watching the show, question popped up! Do you think we could create a Lego Movie? A good WONDER AND CHALLENGE accepted! Want do join in the challenge with us! The BIG thing we have learned so far is that it is very time consuming; however, we've got the time! So do you :)! We'd love to share with you what you created! Post it down below or contact me in the contact section!
It's beginning to sink in that things are cancelled! Our daughter got really frustrated last night about the cancelled 8th grade field trip to Washington D.C.! She knows it's minimal in the big scheme of things, but today, she was sad about it! With this in mind, we started talk about our family trip to Washington D.C. two summers ago. Her favorite museum was the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, Washington D.C.. My favorite exhibit was the First Ladies! Take a peek! What do you notice? When we were there, we always liked to announce what each lady was thinking. What's your favorite portrait? Why? I bet it has something to do with bringing joy in this world!
It feels good to be back! I was off last week with numerous trainings! Hopefully, I have a few more tools in my tool belt to inspire YOU...my favorites scientists... to make the world a better place!
This past week, I have been on many meetings that require me to look at others over my computer screen. I found myself daydreaming during one meeting. I was looking at all these faces and one thing struck my curiosity. Look at the different eyebrows! They certainly move a lot when people talk. This all led me to today's Mystery: Why do we have eyebrows? Click on the link below! Let me know what you think and if you do any of the activities! |
